As you all know there is a developing situation relating to a strain of the coronavirus called COVID19, which is classified by the World Health Organisation as a very High Risk, although the UK Chief Medical Officer currently classified the risk to the public as Moderate.

The Hyperpigmentation Clinic (THPC) has reviewed current guidance and identified key considerations for clients to reduce the risk of spread within our clinics.

Everyone is aware of the NHS guidance and the simple measures that can be implemented to help prevent the spread of viruses:

Key Measures Being Taken

The following have been implemented accordingly:

  • Monitoring our colleagues and their immediate families for symptoms and ensuring they notify us if there are any suspected cases
  • Cancelling client bookings where notification of self-isolation is given
  • Increasing spacing between appointments to reduce congestion in waiting areas (if any)


Additional measures that we have or are being implemented at our sites as follows:

  • Anti-microbial hand gels available at reception areas
  • Following Government guidelines in cleaning regimes of WCs and communal areas
  • Ensuring soap provided within WC and communal areas is anti-microbial
  • Communicating to staff and clients of the importance of personal hygiene and sharing best practice guidelines
  • Utilising video or conference calling facilities where possible to avoid unnecessary meetings
  • Restricting the use of shared telephone and IT equipment
  • Restricting the use of handshakes as a formal greeting
  • Specialist clean of all IT and telephone equipment at reception. This has also been made available to clients
